Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are known to be close friends with George and Amal Clooney, with the royal couple even holidaying at the Clooney’s luxurious Italian villa earlier last year, and of course attending their May wedding.
In fact, the couples are reportedly so close that the Clooneys even handed over the name of their celebrity nanny ahead of the birth of the future royal baby as a recommendation.
George made news for having the new Duchess’ back earlier this year, calling out the online abuse she was facing during her pregnancy, announcing: ‘She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was and it’s history repeating itself. We’ve seen how this ends.’
And since the birth of baby Louis, it seems like the couples are as close as ever, with reports emerging this week that the foursome like to have special dinners together.
‘We live not too far from one another and we have dinners and stuff and we’re friends with them for all the reasons that you’re friends with anybody,’ George Clooney explained recently in a Daily Mail interview. ‘They’re just really nice, fun, kind people, they’re a very loving couple, and they’re going to be great parents.’
George is not throwing his hat in the ring for Godparent however, addressing the rumours in a recent interview with Extra.
‘Everybody loves their rumours,’ he explained. ‘It’s not true. You don’t want me to be a Godparent of anybody. I’m barely a parent at this point. It’s frightening.’
Well, that’s that.
